The heritage-protected theater is to be fundamentally modernized and expanded. Located in the city center of Kielce, it serves—along with its ancillary functions—as the representative front building, while two rear buildings which also occupy the site.
The starting point of the project is the transformation of the previously unused courtyard into the focal point of the new cultural center. The surrounding development is arranged in two L-shaped volumes, creating a sequence of publicly accessible terraces.
The historically significant main hall will undergo a few subtle interventions, ensuring the space retains its unique character. At the same time, the theater will be complemented by a contemporary small hall, which—due to its direct connection to the courtyard—can be used in a wide variety of ways.
